It’s true that iTunes Match is offering matched tracks for artists it doesn’t officially sell in its catalog—AC/DC among them.

iTunes Match: What you need to know | Macworld (via sudama)

That’s interesting… and awesome. I guess in the case of a band like AC/DC, who’ve publicly stated they don’t want individual tracks sold from albums, they want fans to hear the whole thing (which in the case of AC/DC really doesn’t make sense since it’s not like their albums have some kind of unifying concept or theme, but whatever) so they’re okay with their music being matched, since they assume that what’s being matched our complete albums (which isn’t really a valid assumption.)

Ceglia responds quickly, with his own thoughts about the business model and name. He also proposes that they keep the site free and sell coffee mugs and t-shirts, etc.
— Business Insider on Paul Ceglia’s lawsuit claiming he owns 50% the face book. Sure, this piece has plenty of scans of the lawsuit and walks you through all the details, but completely misses the fact that this guy wasn’t even in the movie. (“Coffee mugs aren’t cool.  You know what’s cool? T-shirts. T-shirts are cool.”)

I count the days the Great Frontier
Forgiving, faced the seventh year
I stand in awe of gratefulness
I can and call forgetfulness

And when I, and when I call
The Patient, the Patient fall
The Spirit, the Carpenter
Invites us to be with her

— Sujan Stevens “The Tallest Man, The Broadest Shoulders”

My Record Day 2009 haul

Ashes of American Flags, the new DVD from Wilco (which comes with a free download of mp3s of the songs featured in the movie, a nice bonus)

The Dukes of Stratosphear “25 O’Clock” and “Psonic Psunspot” reissues, which are very handsomely packaged with a wealth of liner notes written by the band members themselves

Derek Trucks Band live EP “Already Live” yay jam rock

My Morning Jacket “Celebracion de la Cuidad Natal” double 10” EP album (fortunately with bonus CD, since I don’t yet have a turntable)

Bad Company’s first two albums remastered, because I feel like I can’t get enough of their good lovin’ gone bad

All told, I injected $120 into the local Berkeley indie rock economy
